Parts listed here are aftermarket, not original manufacturer parts. Instrument names and part numbers are given so you can match a part to the one in your system, and they remain the trademarks of their owners. I do not print the manufacturer on the catalogue, because I source each order against your requirement rather than from one brand. The manufacturer, country of origin, rated life and warranty are all stated in the quote, before you decide anything. If you need an OEM part, say so and I will quote that instead. Parts are bought and resold by Chromkit, so one Canadian supplier invoices you in Canadian dollars and the customs entry is mine.

Deuterium lamp for Agilent 1100, 1200, 1220 and 1260 DAD

Deuterium lamp for the Agilent 1100, 1200, 1220 and 1260 diode array, cross-referenced to 2140-0820 and 2140-0813. Two numbers appear for this position and both are listed, but read the one on the lamp you are removing rather than ordering by system name, because the badge on the stack does not tell you which bench you have. This is the older 3-pin family, not the 8-pin Max-Light lamp used in the G7117 detectors. Getting those two confused is the commonest wrong order on this instrument.

Deuterium lamp for Agilent 1100 and 1200 VWD (G1314A/B/C)

Deuterium lamp for the Agilent variable wavelength detectors, G1314A, B and C, cross-referenced to G1314-60100. A VWD reads one wavelength at a time, so it hides lamp ageing in a way a diode array does not: everything looks normal until the wavelength you happen to run goes noisy. Run the lamp energy test on a schedule rather than waiting for a symptom. Note that some Agilent modules expect a lamp carrying an RFID tag and will flag one without; the chip status for this part is in the specification above.

Deuterium lamp for Agilent 1260 Infinity VWD (G1314D/E/F, G7114), RFID

Deuterium lamp for the Agilent 1260 Infinity variable wavelength detectors, G1314D, E and F and the G7114 pair, cross-referenced to G1314-60101. This position is the one that catches people out. The system badge says 1260 on both the old and the new VWD, but only the D, E and F modules take this lamp, and only this lamp carries the RFID tag those modules expect. A detector that wants a tag and does not find one logs the lamp as unrecognised and, depending on firmware, will not record burn hours against it. The tagged version ships here for that reason. If your module is a G1314A, B or C, you need G1314-60100 instead and it costs less. Send me the module number if the label has worn off.

Deuterium lamp for the Agilent 1100 and 1200 diode array and multiple wavelength detectors on the 3-pin bench, cross-referenced to 5182-1530. A diode array reads the whole spectrum on every cycle, which is what makes lamp ageing visible here earlier than on a fixed wavelength detector: pull up a 3D plot and the deep UV end goes noisy while 254 nm still looks clean. Deuterium output falls fastest below about 230 nm, so a method running at 210 nm loses sensitivity long before one running at 254 nm shows anything. The 5182-1530 position and the 2140-0820 position both serve the G1315 and G1365 families and the split between them is the tag, not the optics. Read the number on the lamp you are pulling out rather than the badge on the front of the stack.

Deuterium lamp for the Agilent 8453 and 8454 diode array UV-Vis spectrophotometers, cross-referenced to 2140-0605. These benches are old and still everywhere, which is the reason the lamp keeps being asked for. A diode array reads the whole spectrum at once, so ageing shows up as rising noise at the short wavelength end while the middle of the range still looks clean. Run a blank across the full range and look at the trace below 230 nm before you decide the lamp is finished. The same lamp serves several Agilent positions under different part numbers, so read the number printed on the one you are removing rather than the model badge on the front.

The LC-2010 is an integrated system rather than a modular stack, so the detector is not something you can swap out to test against. That makes the lamp energy reading more useful here than on a modular instrument: it is the only cheap way to separate a tired lamp from a dirty flow cell without dismantling anything. Check it, and clean the cell, before you order.

Power supply for Waters 2489 HB lamp

Power supply for the Waters 2489 high brightness lamp, cross-referenced to 700002785. This is the part to consider when a new lamp has not fixed the fault. The high brightness lamp needs its supply to strike and hold it, and a failing supply gives you a lamp that will not light, or one that lights and then goes unstable, both of which look identical to a dead lamp from the front panel. If you have already fitted a new lamp and nothing changed, order this rather than a second lamp.

The 484 is an old tunable absorbance detector and many are still running, which means the lamp is often not the oldest thing in the light path. Before ordering, check the flow cell windows: years of buffer leave a film that costs you as much signal as a tired lamp and cleans off for nothing. If a cell clean restores your baseline, keep the lamp. If it does not, this is the part.

These sit on flash purification systems, so the lamp is on for the whole collection run rather than for a few minutes per injection and hours accumulate much faster than the number of purifications suggests. On a flash system a weak lamp costs material rather than data: the detector triggers fraction collection, so peaks that fail to reach the threshold go to waste while the run appears to have worked.

Aftermarket deuterium lamp for Selekt detectors. On a flash system a failing lamp costs you material rather than just signal, because the detector is what triggers fraction collection. A weak baseline means peaks that never reach the collection threshold, and product that goes to waste while the run looks like it worked. That is a more expensive failure than a noisy analytical baseline, and it is easy to mistake for a threshold that needs adjusting. If collection has started missing peaks you know are there, check the lamp energy before you touch the threshold.

Tungsten lamp, WL type

Tungsten lamp, WL type, cross-referenced to 885-1200. A tungsten source covers the visible range, so it fails where a deuterium lamp does not: rising noise and drifting photometric accuracy above roughly 350 nm while the UV end stays clean. Tungsten dims gradually rather than failing outright, which is why it tends to be discovered during a calibration check rather than during a run. If your problem is below 350 nm, this is the wrong lamp and you want the deuterium one.

The advantage of being on a DAD is diagnostic: plot the full spectrum of a blank injection and lamp ageing shows itself as noise concentrated below 250 nm. Flat noise across the whole range is something else, usually the flow cell.

Lamp for ELSD detector

Aftermarket lamp for the ELSD, cross-referenced to 279000562. An ELSD measures light scattered by the dried aerosol, so a weakening source behaves differently from a failing UV lamp. Instead of a noisy baseline you get falling response to the same amount of analyte: calibration curves flatten and the bottom of the range goes first, which is easy to read as a sample preparation problem. If your low standards have stopped responding and the nebuliser and drift tube are clean, look at the source. Check the cross-reference against the lamp currently fitted before ordering, because these instruments were built in more than one configuration.

Quiet xenon lamp upgrade for the EV300. Xenon gives you a continuum across the UV and the visible from one source, so an instrument that would otherwise carry a deuterium and a tungsten lamp needs only this. The quiet designation refers to arc stability: a wandering arc is what produces the low frequency baseline noise that people usually blame on the pump. If your baseline has a slow wander that survives a change of mobile phase and a clean flow cell, arc stability is worth considering.

Scintillation xenon lamp module, 5 W

Xenon lamp module, 5 W, for scintillation counting. The higher powered of the two modules listed here, the other being 2 W. More power means more light and better counting statistics at low activity, and it also means more heat in the housing and a shorter service life. Choose on the assay: if you are counting low activity samples the 5 W earns its cost, and if you are not, the 2 W will last longer and cost less to run.

Deuterium lamp for LCUV-100

Aftermarket deuterium lamp for the LCUV-100. This is a flash chromatography detector, so the lamp accumulates hours differently from an analytical one. A purification run holds the lamp on for the whole collection rather than a few minutes per injection, and hours build far faster than the sample count suggests. Deuterium output falls fastest in the deep UV, so a method watching 210 nm loses sensitivity long before one at 254 nm does. If peaks are being missed at the low end, read the lamp energy before ordering anything.
