Power supply for the Waters 2489 high brightness lamp, cross-referenced to 700002785. This is the part to consider when a new lamp has not fixed the fault. The high brightness lamp needs its supply to strike and hold it, and a failing supply gives you a lamp that will not light, or one that lights and then goes unstable, both of which look identical to a dead lamp from the front panel. If you have already fitted a new lamp and nothing changed, order this rather than a second lamp.

Aftermarket deuterium lamp for the Waters 2489 and 2998, cross-referenced to 201000281. The 2489 runs at set wavelengths and the 2998 reads the full spectrum, and the same lamp serves both. On either detector, deuterium output falls fastest in the deep UV, so a method running at 210 nm loses sensitivity long before one running at 254 nm does. This detector expects a lamp carrying an RFID tag. The chip is listed in the specification above, and it is worth confirming before you order, because a chipless lamp can be refused by the instrument.

Deuterium lamp for Waters 996 and 2996 PDA detectors

Deuterium lamp for the Waters 996 and 2996 photodiode array, cross-referenced to WAT052586. A PDA reads the whole spectrum at once, which is what makes lamp ageing visible earlier here than on a fixed wavelength detector: pull up a 3D plot and you can watch the deep UV end go noisy while 254 nm still looks fine. Use that before ordering. If the noise is flat across the whole spectrum rather than worst below 250 nm, the lamp is not what is wrong.

Deuterium lamp for Waters 484 detector

Deuterium lamp for the Waters 484, cross-referenced to WAT080357. The 484 is an old tunable absorbance detector and many are still running, which means the lamp is often not the oldest thing in the light path. Before ordering, check the flow cell windows: years of buffer leave a film that costs you as much signal as a tired lamp and cleans off for nothing. If a cell clean restores your baseline, keep the lamp. If it does not, this is the part.

Deuterium lamp for Waters 2487 detector

Deuterium lamp for the Waters 2487 dual wavelength detector, cross-referenced to WAS081142. The 2487 watches two wavelengths at once and that is a free diagnostic: if the noise is on your 214 nm channel and the 280 nm channel is steady, the lamp is ageing in the way deuterium lamps do. If both channels went at the same time, look at the flow cell or the mobile phase first. Run the instrument's own lamp energy test before ordering either way.
