Deuterium lamp with a 3-pin connector for Agilent LC detectors and 8453 spectrophotometers.

This is an aftermarket part, not an original manufacturer part. Instrument names and part numbers identify what it fits and replaces; they remain the trademarks of their owners. The manufacturer, country of origin, rated life and warranty are stated in the quote, before you decide anything. If you need the OEM part, say so and I will quote that instead.

Deuterium lamp for Agilent 8453 and 8454 UV-Vis spectrophotometers

Replaces OEM part number: 2140-0605

Deuterium lamp for the Agilent 8453 and 8454 diode array UV-Vis spectrophotometers, cross-referenced to 2140-0605. These benches are old and still everywhere, which is the reason the lamp keeps being asked for. A diode array reads the whole spectrum at once, so ageing shows up as rising noise at the short wavelength end while the middle of the range still looks clean. Run a blank across the full range and look at the trace below 230 nm before you decide the lamp is finished. The same lamp serves several Agilent positions under different part numbers, so read the number printed on the one you are removing rather than the model badge on the front.

Check this before you order

This is the spectrophotometer lamp. It is not the 8-pin Max-Light lamp used by a 1290 or a newer 1260 LC detector. If the instrument is part of an LC stack rather than a standalone bench spectrophotometer, send me the module number first.

This lamp has no RFID chip. Some detectors read a chip to log lamp hours. On those, an untagged lamp reports a tag error and will not ignite until you set the lamp type manually, and you reset the lamp-hours counter yourself afterwards. It runs normally once that is done. What that involves. If you would rather have the chipped version, say so and I will quote that instead.

Before you order: if the instrument is misbehaving, tell me the symptom, not the part number. Lamps and seals get replaced for problems they did not cause. The first look costs nothing, and if this part is not the fix, I will say so.
