Instrument service
Instrument service in the GTA. Tell us what you run.
We are building a network of independent service engineers for HPLC, LC-MS, GC and GC-MS systems in the Greater Toronto Area. Any brand. Before we bring engineers on, we want to know which instruments labs need help with, and where.
Add your instrument to the service list. It is free and commits you to nothing. When we have an engineer for your instrument and your area, labs on the list hear from us first.
How service will work
01
You tell us the job
The instrument, the symptom or the work you need, and where it is.
02
A chemist looks first
Some problems are the method, the sample or the column, and a visit will not fix them. We check that before anyone travels.
03
Written quote before the visit
One quote with the work, the parts and the price. You decide before anything is booked.
04
A named engineer does the work
An independent engineer with experience on your brand. You get a service report and the parts list with part numbers.
Some service visits are booked for a problem that turns out to be the method, the sample or the column. That is why a chemist looks at it first. If the instrument is fine, we tell you, and you have not paid for a visit you did not need.
Common questions
- Is joining the list a service contract?
- No. Joining is free and does not commit you to anything. When we have an engineer for your instrument and your area, we contact you with a written quote, and you decide then.
- Which brands and instruments do you service?
- Tell us what you run, whatever the brand: HPLC and UHPLC, LC-MS, GC, GC-MS or something else. We are building the engineer network around the instruments on this list, so a brand we do not cover today can be covered because labs asked for it.
- Who does the work?
- Independent field engineers with factory experience on the brand, working with Chromkit. Chromkit arranges the job, and your service contract and warranty are with Chromkit. Every engineer is named on our People page, with their approval, before they work for you. Our first service partner is Syed Hussain of SPC Analytical in Mississauga.
- Which area do you cover?
- The Greater Toronto Area first. If the list shows demand further out in Ontario, we will add engineers there. Tell us your city so we can see where labs are.
- Our instrument is still under the manufacturer's warranty. Should we join?
- Keep warranty repairs with the manufacturer. Independent service is usually for instruments past their warranty, or for preventive maintenance the warranty does not cover. We ask about warranty before we quote.
- What stays with the manufacturer?
- Software licences, and major software and firmware upgrades. If your lab releases GMP product and your quality system names the manufacturer as the service provider, keep that contract for those instruments.
- What do you do with my details?
- We use them to plan service coverage and to contact you about service. We do not share them, and joining the service list does not add you to a newsletter.
Are you a service engineer?
If you service HPLC, LC-MS, GC or GC-MS systems in Ontario and take outside work, we would like to hear from you. Tell us the brands you know and the area you cover.
