Viper fittings are finger tight by design and that is the part people get wrong: over tightening with a tool deforms the cone and produces exactly the dead volume the fitting exists to avoid. A bent or blunted needle tip damages the seat below it, so if you are fitting a new needle it is worth inspecting the seat at the same time. Peak shape that has gone slightly tailing on every compound, rather than one, is worth checking here.
